I guess this is what I must admit I have become. As my last blog post was June 27, “sporadic” might even be too nice of a word. I think I have about two weeks worth of posts floating around in my head, and I simply have not committed them to cyberspace. Sigh.
Perhaps if I give you a timeline, my sporadic blogging might make more sense.
June 25: Eight-mile Lincoln-Douglas run in the morning, celebrate Charlotte’s 11th birthday in the afternoon
June 26: Jeff leaves for Thailand, church picnic (lots of fun with just me to chase Jeremy around)
June 27: Charlotte’s actual birthday, cancelled baseball game means both kids get to go to VBS at a nearby church
June 28: Baseball at 6:00 for Elijah, VBS at 6:30 for Charlotte; the ability to be in two places at once would have been GREAT this week
June 29: Oil change in preparation for vacation in the morning, tae kwon do in the afternoon, VBS in the evening
June 30: French lessons in the afternoon, baseball at 6:00 one town over, VBS at 6:30 back home, team Dairy Queen night after baseball game
July 1: mow lawn in morning in preparation for vacation, afternoon tae kwon do private lesson, baseball at 6:00 one town over, VBS at 6:30 back home, Jeff arrives late from Thailand after 7:00, baseball swim party from 8:00 to 10:00
July 2: early 10-mile run in 85 degree heat, pack for vacation, hit the road for Des Moines, Iowa, right after lunch
(Yes, Jeff did get back from Thailand one day and leave for a 10-day road trip the next.)
July 2-July 11: Road trip from Illinois to Iowa to a brief hop into Nebraska to South Dakota to North Dakota to Minnesota to Wisconsin and back to Illinois
July 12 aka Today: Jeff leaves for Japan, our new fence is installed
You know, I’m getting tired all over again just looking at this schedule. Jeff’s travel has really been over the top these past few weeks, and he’s likely heading back to Thailand the first week in August. He honestly doesn’t know if he’s coming or going, and I’m struggling mightily to hold down the fort. A baby who’s cutting molars and squeezing in marathon training just adds to the fun and excitement.
OK…enough whining. The good news about all this activity is that I do have plenty of fodder and photos for my blog! Hopefully, I’ll be able to get some posts up over the next couple of weeks. The two older kids head to their Tennessee grandparents’ house on Sunday, so maybe I’ll have a bit more spare time. We shall see.
I hope that your July has been good!
